I have two little boys and painting for crafts is.....um.....terrible! (I have two stained sets of kids clothes and a pair of sandals ruined from a finger painting session with WASHABLE finger paints on paper outside.) I got a Kiwkstik in a homeschool conference bag and gave it a try. Amazon has the best price and it ships quick.PROS:1) it is washable. My 2 year old had red on his hands and it washed off completely (even better than ultra washable crayola markers which would have left a pink glow behind!)2) it is NOT drippy or loose or crumbly, glides beautifully on paper, dries with a pleasant waxy sheen3) colors are vibrant4) dries REALLY quickly (no half curled pages laying around the house waiting to dry for days after half a cup of paint and water has almost turned the page to mush)5) no need for craft aprons and baths6) works on other materials....we tried wood and construction paper7) once dry, you can layer colors on top, like red background, dry in a minute or two, then add white spots, etc.8) no smearing or bleeding, the way the kid has to hold the stick prevents their hands from naturally being drawn across the page at the same time9) kids found it easy to control, I told them not to press too hard so it doesn't mash, but it actually seems pretty hardy and withstood the 2 year old's pressure variations without any deformation of the stickCONS:I can't think of any (and I'm pretty picky)Note: I also bought the thin version and loves those too but I thought the thin versions would be more like crayon size so my 5 year old can color in a coloring page in detail. However, the surface is still as thick as a thick crayola marker (the original version which I have as as well is like a small school glue stick size). Would be kind of nice to have an Ultra Thin version too for detail work. You can make the thin version work but it would be a bit tricky to color in a detailed pre printed coloring sheet with it. Better for creating your own work on a blank sheet or canvas! There are reviewers below me that have written great reviews that are spot on. See “amazon customer”. I just want to add that these paint crayons are perfect for throwing in a bag as I do for going to a restaurant with a child, 2+.The texture is almost similar to using an oil pastel or lipstick.I’m just “the Grandma” but my elementary art teacher sister suggested them to me and I am so thrilled with them that I have purchased for all of my other “Grandma” friends, inexpensive and everyone has loved them.If your child is older, Kwick Stix also comes in sets with many more colors, (not sure if all are offered on Amazon)These are the best paints ever. I ordered a 36 pack for my grandson. These are great for starters.I absolutely love these. My young kids love to color with these. They dry extremely fast which means there is very little mess. Wipes off the table if they miss the page. Bought some jumbo coloring books to color with these. Next time i buy will just buy the larger pack with more color variety. These are wonderful to use with my preschool special ed students who are beginning to learn the basic strokes of writing. I especially like to use them with those who use light pressure on the writing utensil making it hard to see what they drew/wrote. These do not require much pressure to produce a written sample. This is amazing. It draws really smooth. They are about as big around as a glue stick. It reminds me of drawing with lipstick except that this dries super fast. My three year old and I colored with them and had a blast. They also can write on top of each other but the colors somewhat blend, not bleed or mix. You can for sure see what was written underneath and the colors change when drawn on with a different color. It's easier top draw with then crayons but not as precise since the tips are flat and not sharp. My two year old LOVES these, and so do I. We love to be creative, but typical tempera paints can be very messy for everyday use. I like that I can just put on her smock and hand her these. She can easily open and twist them herself which is definitely a bonus for me! They dry quickly and are easily cleaned up with a rag. Super fun for outdoor play also! I would definitely (and have) recommend these to friends or give them as gifts. These are so unique in that my son can sit down to "paint" and we don't have to prep and clean up like we do with other paints. He really likes using these to create art, and when all I have to do is use a wet wipe to wipe the table after he's done, I really like them too! I need to get some more colors! These are awesome! Bright colours, dry almost immediately, and zero mess! Kids loved them!! I only wish their were more colours available.I really like to color pigmentation. It is washable, however, if the stain is on the carpet, it is harder to clean.Love this product! Quickstix are the best art supply we have to use with the younger kids.Excellent productArrived on time and product was great.
