As an artist, I have a large collection of pens for different purposes. For this reason, I was immediately drawn to the Smilevol Dual Tip Pens. This set come with 6 pens, each of which prints a different design which can be use to create lines, borders, backgrounds, and more. The prints are created by the pen tips, which are actually miniature rollers with hearts, flowers, waves, slashes, dashes, or a dot-dash design. Each design is in a different color. The only reason I deducted a star, is because I found this same pen set, under a different brand name, and priced almost $4 cheaper, here on Amazon. That being said, this is a fun China made pen set.These pens are a fun and easy way to create borders and patterns. But the ink does skip a bit. Some of the pens also tend to create curved lines, rather than straight ones. It seems this depends on the shape of the pattern. The ones that are more symmetrical (dashed short line, dashed longer line, and squiggly line) tend to come out straight. The ones that are not symmetrical (diagonal, flower, and heart) tend to pull on the pen, making it go in a curve on its own. Those tended to skip ink more too, maybe because I couldn't apply even pressure as I rolled the pen.Still, these are fun and unique. No odd smell to the ink. I do like that each pattern is a different color. These are great for kids and casual crafts, but not for a crafter who is looking for a high-end result.Got these for my kid's school projects, they have very neat different shapes that roll on the paper and leave cool designs- Although its not a double sided pen you have to pull the end off and turn it around to use as a marker.They function well, write with ease and seem to have plenty of life in them as the kiddos have been enjoying them since they arrive.These are super cute pens for journaling, scrapbooking or planners. They’re advertised as highlighters which they are not. At all. They are however, well constructed pens that draw line designs. Great for boarders, underlining and I’m sure a million other things.
